Maternity Wear Tips and Tricks
When you are pregnant, it can sometimes feel like it is hard to look stylish and sophisticated. Your body changes completely when you fall pregnant so it can be difficult to know how to dress, but with a few simple tricks anyone can look good even when expecting.
One of the most important things to bear in mind when pregnant is that you don’t need to forget what your style is. If you didn’t like a wrap dress before you fell pregnant it doesn’t mean that you have to wear them while you are. Follow your own sense of style and you won’t go far wrong.
The other thing to bear in mind is that nobody looks good in maternity dresses that are either too big or too small, so pick out a few pieces in various sizes to take you through the whole term of the pregnancy.
Looking to celebs for inspiration is also another way to get an idea of what will flatter your baby bump. Natalie Portman and Rachel Zoe have all recently shown that you can look good while pregnant. Natalie Portman for example managed to look stylish throughout the awards season; she wore a variety of long maxi dresses which showed off her baby bump without looking tarty. While Rachel Zoe embraced the maxi dress and maxi skirt trend looking comfy and yet glam- a good look when pregnant.
If you are past the bloated stage and actually look pregnant, embrace it and show off your sexy new figure. By embracing the bump people will actually know you are pregnant as well which is always preferable. You want to look pregnant not fat or pudgy.
However, while it is important to show off your figure it is much more stylish to do that in figure flattering clothes rather than wearing tops that show off your belly. This can look a little cheap.
Finally incorporate accessories. These will fit you throughout your pregnancy and will update even the simplest of outfits. A chic scarf or some chunky bangles are a great way to inject some personality and style into your maternity look.
But once you have done all of this the most important thing to do is embrace your new look and style and have fun while you are pregnant.
